Does anyone have any suggestions or advice for how to move archived documents from optical storage media to CAS, in a way that is accurate and verifiable? We have a client in financial services who is growing anxious about continuing high maintenance costs of optical disc drive technology. They are considering migration to a CAS platform but need to know how this can be done properly. Any ideas would be appreciated.

ljt1227,
I just noticed your post a little while ago, so my answer is a bit late. I have quite a lot to say about optical migration. I've been actively involved moving archive data to and from optical platters for more than a decade, and onto CAS for 4 years or so. I'd be happy to answer any questions, and let you know what we've found. You can post back here, or email at my personal address:
A lot depends on the system you're using to create and reference the archived data. Let me know a little about the situation (you needn't reveal anything proprietary) and I can say more about the challenges involved, and how they can be met.
